Prank Calls

"Prince Albert in the can"

During the summers before caller ID, three way calling, call return we had mischievous kids with idle time on their hands and prank phone calls were made. One was calling the grocery stores and asking if they had any "Prince Albert in a can," to which they would answer, "yes", we do(because the tobacco is typically packaged in a can,. Which our reply back to them was, "Well, you'd better let him out!" or "Then why don't you let him out before he suffocates!?"

"Is you refrigerator running"

We would call people at home and ask the person that answered the phone, "Is your refrigerator running," "Yes," would be their reply. We would then tell them, "they better lay the phone down and go at catch it."
